It is unnatural for a horse to get onto a trailer and we as humans should be grateful for our horses´ never ending willingness to please us no matter what we ask them to do.
Forcing a horse onto a trailer is quite dangerous and many horses and even people get very seriously injured doing so.
Not only will a horse learn to fear and maybe even hate the trailer - it may become seriously traumatized and disturbed for life.
You as the caretaker may also become traumatized either because you yourself get injured or because you have to witness your horses accident.
So, no matter what well meaning people tell you, please be careful and please
do not apply any means of force.
Do take your time over teaching your horse in a gentle way to trust the trailer experience.
