The Horse Box - Your Horses Point of View

Try to look at a horsebox from the horses´ point of view for a moment:

It is a rather dark enclosed space with no exit at the front resembling something like a cave.
In ancient times bears would dwell in caves and you as a horse would never have entered a cave unless you intended to commit suicide.

You would be most interested in wide open spaces so you could see any enemy and flee if it came near you.
Moving backwards would be something you´d do if your alpha horse would force you to in order to demonstrate your submissiveness.

Moving backwards down a slope, unable to see where you are going would be something you´d avoid at all costs.

Looking at a horsebox with your horse instincts would surely make you turn and leave.

Now imagine being a modern horse.

Maybe the humans managed to persuade you to enter a trailer against your natural instincts and it became a nasty experience because that trailer took you away from your home and friends.
Or because you hurt yourself on the way out.
Or because they hurt you when they forced you onto “the thing”. Or maybe you even got involved into an accident.
And now your human friend is asking you to enter such a nasty dangerous thing again...

Looking at matters from your horses´ point of view you would surely find many frightening, distressing and disturbing aspects when it came to entering a simple horse box.

Being a sensitive animal, you would also feel the growing anger or nervousness of your human caretaker and these impressions would make your own fears even worse.

Wouldn´t it be nice if someone came along and took your stress away?
